A Week In Our Shoes: Behind The Door

From Hollaback! HQ

Woohoo! Do you smell that?? Let us bask in the ambiance – that is friday. Happy Friday Hollas! *inserts fist pump* What’s even better? The latest edition of “A Week In Our Shoes” , of course. Let’s get to it shall we? By now, we all know about the Harvey Weinstein trial. Historic isn’t it? It brings our hearts to great joy at HQ that the #MeToo movement has been a great influence on today’s generation. We all could appreciate the comfort and power of this movement and what it brings to many folks. It is revolutionary that this movement has pulled the plug on casting a blind eye on grave issues of sexual misconduct, assault and, of course, harassment. We cannot even fathom the words to describe to you how folks feel about the Weinstein trial, however, we stand in SOLIDARITY with you. You are not alone. We are deeply grateful for the fact that the “silence cycle” is broken by empowered people, like you, creating a congenial atmosphere. This verdict reminds us of what we already know: Weinstein is only one man, and we won’t end sexual violence and harassment playing whack-a-mole with the criminal justice system. But this verdict echoes the strong message that many people, especially women, have been demanding for decades: WE DESERVE BETTER.” – Hollaback!
