#HollaAlert! Yesterday, Janelle Hartman was a guest host on the “Gotta Run with Will” Show on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network.
Hartman had the opportunity to interview Kelly Herron, Founder of “Not Today” and our very own, Hollaback! Founder, Emily May for Runner Safety Awareness Week. This is a crucial achievement for Hollaback! as there are numerous cases of harassment runners experience. It is especially important to highlight the safety issues athletes and fitness enthusiasts face, daily.
“The fears we don’t face, become our limits”. – Robin Sharma
Shout Out to Emily and Kelly for dedicating part of their lives to fighting and becoming a voice for many folks out there. There is power behind every voice which perpetuates change. These women, their macro analysis and understanding of the various systemic ills of society, remind us that we must work together. Here are more highlights.

“When I grow up, be on TV,
People know me, be on magazines,
When I grow up, fresh and clean,
Number one chick when I step out on the scene.” – Pussycat Dolls
Two words! Bon Iver! Yes Bon Iver, the Multiple Grammy award-winning indie/folk band, Bon Iver. The band recently partnered with Hollaback! Jakarta for an anti-sexual abuse initiative. Talk about support right? Not to mention…while the Hollaback! Jakarta team attended their concert, Justin Vernon gave them a huge shout out! How surreal is that? Check out the clip here.
Catch you in our next issue of A Week In Our Shoes!
