Keynotes, Workshops, and Trainings
Hollaback! would love to keynote your next event or lead a workshop/training at your school or organization on street harassment, online harassment, building safe and inclusive public spaces for all, and transforming the culture that perpetuates sexual discrimination and violence.
We have spoken and presented in schools, colleges, and organizations across the country as well as internationally – from keynoting SAAM (Sexual Assault Awareness Month) events at major universities to conducting workshops in middle and high school and college classrooms, to keynoting international business conferences, to training law enforcement officers in major cities.
We will gladly tailor the content to suit your time requirements and the needs of your audience.
Trainings/workshops and keynote presentations are engaging, interactive, and range from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Some of the topics we cover include:
- Bystander Intervention: how to go from inaction to action when you see harassment
- Bystander Intervention Online: what to do when you see harassment online
- Why can’t we all just get along?: how to bridge difference and build community
- Ending harassment: why it matters
Here’s what people had to say:
“Emily [May] is a force to be reckoned with and sparks others to be too. Her talk at Duke inspired, provoked and challenged the audience to see street harassment and their power to change it as essential to the feminist movement. She is clear, real and unwavering. Watching her is like seeing change happen before your eyes.”
– Ada Gregory, Director of Duke University Women’s Center
“Hollaback! presented highly engaging and impactful workshops to our Young Women’s Leadership and Young Men’s Leadership programs at South Asian Youth Action. The workshop contextualized street harassment as a social justice issue, provided a safe space for youth to share experiences and find support from each other, and gave practical information about how to combat this problem, whether one is a victim or bystander.”
– Sarah Rashid, College and Leadership Program Coordinator, South Asian Youth Action
“Hollaback!’s work is so important especially since it develops a platform to open up the dialogue with students and staff who may feel it’s pointless and out of their control to talk about street harassment. After Hollaback!’s workshop, our staff began to reflect on their own experiences of street harassment, which fortified another layer of relationships with our students here at Broome Street Academy.”
– Christian Cabrera, Director of Student Services, Broome Street Academy
“The discussion felt so empowering. I feel more validated about this issue than I ever have!”
– Workshop participant from NYC High School
Participants and audience members have shared that they felt overall more “informed,” “empowered,” and “supported” after going through one of Hollaback!’s trainings around issues of street harassment and gender justice.
