PUBLIC HARASSMENT: THIS HAPPENED TONIGHT…

This happened tonight. I decided to change things up a bit and wanted to walk my dog down the Titusville Pier. There is a bridge right next to the pier and a lot of people walk the bridge for exercise, so I parked my car in the main lot used for walking the bridge. When I rounded the corner onto the street leading to the bridge, some guys drove by and catcalled. They pulled off the road and drove under the bridge and out of sight. I continued walking down the road toward the pier and when I passed the place where the guys pulled off headlights suddenly started flashing (it was evening) and the same guys started catcalling again (“I want a piece of that ass!”). I got to the pier and saw that dogs weren’t allowed so I started walking back to the parking lot because Marina Park is right there and I could walk my dog in the park. But when I got back to where the guys had been parked I saw they were still there, sitting in the dark. And when I got closer (I had to go that way because there were no other roads leading to the pier) they started flashing their lights again and catcalling. I tried to ignore them and hurry by but suddenly they tore out from under the bridge and made like they were going to hit me and my dog. We quickly jumped to the side as the guys turned (still catcalling) and sped down the road. Guess where they turned. Right into my parking lot where they proceeded to park and watch me. When I got closer to the lot entrance, they started backing out and I knew they were going to try to intercept me. I rushed across the parking lot entrance and into the Marina Park to keep a line of parked cars between me and them. I didn’t see them anymore and was afraid they would see where I parked so I waited in a lit area near the other cars instead of immediately going to my car in case they tried something while I was putting my dog away. I was very scared and should have called the police or my dad to escort me to my car but hindsight is 20/20. I’m going to get a self-defense weapon.
