PUBLIC HARASSMENT: I WAS WALKING HOME

I was walking home in late afternoon and a man walking towards me looked me in the eyes as he passed me saying “do you want to fuck?”. I didn’t respond and kept walking and he repeated the question again, but didn’t stop or follow me. I looked back to make sure he’s not following me and just kept walking. When I’m thinking about my reaction and what I should have done, I’m trying to convince myself it was the right reaction, as the priority was to get away from a potential threat. There were no people around and it was already dark outside. Even though I feel I would be more empowered if I answered something, but at the same time I think it would put me at more risk of escalation and physical fight. I train Krav Maga and the first rule is to flee to safety instead of engaging, if possible. I’m still enraged though, that somebody would even dare to behave like that.
