Street Harassment: It’s 1:15 minutes after…

It’s 1:15 minutes after the post office closes, broad daylight, on a Saturday. I’m going to brunch with friends after I drop off a package so I had a nice dress shawl on. There’s three or four other people in front of me at the Kiosk. I made sure when I got there that there were other people around. it’s my turn finally so I start entering the shipping details. A minute later, someone walks in behind me. I turn and see it’s a tall man, probably 25-30. He asks me if they sell passport stuff at the Kiosk 🙄 so I dryly say no. Then I continue with my business and I hear him talking. But he keeps talking and pausing so I assume he has a Bluetooth on or something. Then I realize he’s talking to me: “Go on a date with me” “Why won’t you date me” “How old are you?” “You seem a little young for me” etc. And he creepily asked how old I was three or four times with no response. Finally I looked him sternly in the eye and angrily told him I was busy and would appreciate it if he left me alone. He responds with “Oh I see you’re SO BUSY” “Fine…. I’ll leave” and finally leaves. By the time I ship my package (1 minute later), I realize no one is around. The post office workers wouldn’t have heard me. No one on the street could have done anything Bc they were too far away. I didn’t have any pepper spray or self defense weapons. I’m small. I was afraid he would follow me when I left but thankfully he didn’t. I keep blaming myself for wearing something feminine (and BTW not revealing at all), and being alone at the post office. But it’s not my fault. I can’t control the actions of others. I am safe now.
