HOLLA ON THE GO: Bus Ride to Work

An older man boarded the bus after me. The bus was standing room only, but wasn’t full enough to be packed. Still, he walked back to the same pole I was holding and stood facing me and so close that his hips bumped mine any time the bus swayed. At the next stop, some people got off the bus and I moved back several steps. He again followed me back, put his hand on the pole near mine even though there was another that he could have grabbed, and stood so close that he would bump me when the bus swayed. I then asked to go past the guy standing behind me and made my way unsteadily to the back of the bus so there was no way he could follow me back and claim he was just making room for loading passengers. He stared at me as I sat down in an open seat in the back.
