A Week in our Shoes: Three Weeks of Resistance

Hollaback! Ottawa Chalk WalkHollas, it’s been a minute!

The past three weeks have seen natural disaster and government oppression, and those stories aren’t even done unfolding. But we’ve continued to show up for each other and rally for a better world.

  • We bid a bittersweet goodbye to our communications intern Aria, our graphic design super-intern Kendall, and our HeartMob super-duper intern Aoife. Kendall worked with us for seven months and Aoife was with us for a full year… We’ll miss all three of these interns, but we’re so excited to see what they do next!
  • We welcomed a new staff member! See more under HeartMob below. Our amazing People’s Supper intern is also staying with us – see more below!
  • Emily keynoted for 150 students at the College of New Jersey.
  • Debjani did a #LoveArmy teach-in on bystander intervention with Yasmin Safdié of the Anti-Violence Project, and has continued to give digital bystander intervention trainings with Agunda. Sign up for the next one here!

  • Hollaback! Nederland launched its new project, “Kom je hier vaker?” (Do you come here often?) at the Chicks on a Mission Conference in Amsterdam! The project is a collaboration with Doetank PEER and Emancipator, and calls on bars and café’s to promote a safe nightlife.
